Phreaking/reminiscing/FOR SALE ITEMS

4 5.25" drives, two monochrome monitors and

1200 baud Apple Cat modem (Bell 103, 202, 212) for sale.  You name the price.

I suspect only the modem, possibly the drives will sell due to cost of
shipping, but the applecat would come with 'fun' software...  Did you know the
Apple Cat was THE modem to use to 'abuse' the phone company's own computer
systems?  With proper programs this modem can duplicate frequencies used by THE
system, allowing one to pretend he is who he really isn't (long distance
operator, etc.).

Phone 'phreaking' seems to have become a lost art of the past.  I've been
there. It was fun...  Boy... Has it been 7 years already!?  I can't believe I
paid full $650 + tax for this damn thing!!!  Besides the speed, the
Apple Cat II is still by far the best, most versatile modem I have ever used or
heard of.  Sure, now you can get modems with fax, voice mail even.  But can you
program these to do all that fun stuff I just mention, play music while the
phone is on hold, talk (synthesized speech) and be able to control BSR modules
around the house (yes, it's true) all in one package?

Wow. I guess I am reminiscing more so than trying to sell thins doomed item...
