I agree with you totally, I have been using AWGS for three years and it
rarely crash. And the PAGE LAYOUT module is the best //GS DTP program
 to handle graphic images.

Do the following test (compare with any other DTP for the GS) :

 - Import a SHR graphics (640 mode) into the page layout module via
the clipboard or the FILE menu.
 - Change the width of the graphics by half. (Say if the image is
6 inch wide and 4 inch tall, make it 3 inch wide and 4 inch tall)
Remember : just change the width, not the height.
 - Configure the page to the CONDENSE mode.
 - Print the document with or without additional text on it.
 - Try to do the same (resize the graphics with half the width) with
other //GS DTP and compare the difference.

I do not know what kind of techique they use in AWGS, but they handle
graphics nicely. Compare GW III to AWGS, and the graphics output is
always better on the AWGS world IF YOU RESIZE THE GRAPHICS. If you just
print the graphics as is, the result is pretty much the same.

If you own a StyleWriter, you will apperciate AWGS more. Try to resize
the width of the graphics image four or five times smaller and make the
height of the graphics in half. Print the document and compare it with
GW III (with the same procedure). You can really really tell the
 difference.

P.S. But I agree with those who think AWGS's DB,SS and Communication
      module is a joke.
The WP is ok, though it could be better <i.e. ShadowWrite ?>

And again, these are just my personal opinions.
