I have a ROM3 GS.  One time when I was working on an new assembly program, I
must of nailed some very important memory locations by mistake and <CRASH>!
I did the old open-apple ctrl reset and the machine rebooted into the monitor,
ouch.  I tried several times always the same thing, monitor.  I then ran the
self test and rebooted after the system ok message came on, wham into monitor
again.  I then turned the sucker off and on.  Someone had said you could always
reboot your ROM3 without turning it off, maybe I just got lucky! :)
