Followup to language card question....Apple ][ plus convert

I was going to take this to email, but after writing it up and including
the BINSCII segments, it wasn't so long after all. So here goes...
------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to those who pointed out that toggling the $C080 language card
softswitch will crash unless properly set up, i.e. a copy of applesoft
and the monitor (or whatever) should be in RAM and ready to go.

The details...the old 'Nibble' program I'm trying to run is from the
June '84 issue, and it's called 'Apple ][ plus convert'. It copies
applesoft and the monitor from ROM into RAM and patches it so that it's
identical to the Apple ][ plus monitor (even has the old solid blinking
cursor, uppercase only, etc.).

This program did work when I had a //e, and aside from nostalgia value,
allowed me to run a few programs that were more ][+ than //e compatible.
Recently, while pulling out a few old disks, I came across this convert
program, and a few others that were in the 'more ][+ compatible than //e'
category above. So I thought i'd try to get it to work on my iigs.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It seems that the memory move in line 80
doesn't work. The patches were to convert the //e monitor to the ][ plus
monitor, so there are probably additional differences to patch on the iigs.
The simplest solution seems to be to use the little AII program provided in
the article. This program loads in the file AII+MON, which is the entire
applesoft + monitor. I wish I'd created this AII+MON file when I had my
//e (or ][+, for that matter), but since I had the applesoft 'convert'
program handy, I never bothered.

Could someone run, under DOS 3.3, the convert program on a //e and type

BSAVE AII+MON,A$D000,L$2FFF

to save this file, and then reboot, and execute the AII program
(CALL 770 from applesoft) to see if it'll work?

If it does, could you send this AII+MON file to me and I'll try and get it
to work on my iigs? Here's the applesoft 'convert' file, followed by the
AII file, both BINSCII'ed, which are needed for the above scheme to work.

Many thanks in advance,
Alim Khan
