Look, Jon. Lemmie give you some advice here.

I've been around the Internet for a fair amount, and I've seen this happen
innumerable times. You have been following the typical pattern of a young
'clueless newbie' (a term used over and over again) and that is _not_ the
way to garner any respect around these parts.

Your tendency to lump people who disagree with you into a group named after
yourself shows the self-centered nature of an immature brat. Making lots of
noise and hullaboo is also a very common thing to do; unfortunately it makes
you look childish.

There are unspoken rules of conduct on the Internet; you have (unwittingly)
broken many. As is typical of someone who doesn't understand the scope of
the Internet, you've somewhat blundered around here and alienated many
people.

If you want people to respect you, and respect your opinions hereabouts,
I suggest you do the following:

  1) Quote other people's posts, and respond piece by piece to the
portions you disagree with. This provides solid proof for any
statements you might make. When you make refutals to another
post without quoting what you are disagreeing with, it makes your
     statement much weaker.

  2) Don't post if you have nothing to say! This one is a very common
trap. You should usually post if you have something valuable to
contribute; commentary on a product, advice to a programmer etc.
And of course, requests for information are encouraged as well.

  3) Show some respect for the people who deserve it. There are a lot
of people on this net who have written valuable software for the
GS. These people have done real, solid work to back up their talk.

You've obviously made a lot of enemies on other networks, but it isn't
too late to turn it around.

I hope this is of some use to you. Think it over :)
