If you can ftp, ftp to ftp.apple.com and look in the directory
dts/aii/sys.soft/gs.system6 for the packed System 6 disks. You'll need the
binscii and GSHK programs to unpack them, and a hard drive is most recommended
for this. You can get the sys.soft by looking through other sets of
directories; Apple has its directories aliased around into a nice mesh.
If you can't ftp, you might be abe to get a copy from your local Mac
("Apple") Dealer. None of the dealers were even willing to consider giving
me a copy of System 6; only one had a copy of System 6, but it "had" to be
sold with nice manuals and all.
Your best source for System Software is probably Resource Central; they
have System 6.0 in stock, and are taking orders for 6.0.1 at the moment.
Give them a call at (913) 469-6502, and ask for one of the following:
DA-006 System 6.0.1, disks only $24
DA-013 System 6.0.1, disks and manual $39
These prices are from their June 1993 catalog.
