    We should be taking a major step in that direction within a couple
of weeks.  What we *really* should be doing is promoting the development
of software that allows free exchange of files and messages between
ProLine, GBBS, METAL and the Internet.  A person reading a message on a
networked conference should not be able to tell what type of software
the originating system is using (other that from signatures, etc.)  That
way a budding sysop can choose the software he or she likes and still be
able to tap into the same pool of resources everyone else enjoys.
