I guess it all depends very much on how good you are with a soldering iron.
I know, there are those adaptors for the sockets, but they only work with
certain SRAMs (do to the weaker signal or more noiseor something), and
anyway, it's Just Not Done :) I _think_ the 9Mhz already have the small
sockets, could someone confirm that?

As for SRAM: You can easily plug 64k in a 7/8. As I said, when you want to
go 12, you either have to buy the special SRAMs and socket converters, or
be _really_ good with a soldering iron. If the 9 has the small sockets,
upgrading should be easy. As for heat: My 12 does not produce a lot of heat,
not that I'm aware of, anyway.

Hmmm ... I heard once that there were 14MHz models available directly from
ZIP where they bypassed the slow portions of the ASIC with some 74F*
circuitry. True? False?
