System 6.0.1? Ethernet??

There has been a lot of questions and as many answers about the impending
release of GS/OS system 6.0.1. One of its touted features is support for an
Ethernet card.
 
Has this thing been developed yet? I heard back in July 1991 that we could
expect to see it at the beginning of '92. The last I heard (around August last
year) was that it would be released at the same time as System 6.0.1.
 
So what's the story? I'm particularly interested since my office is about to
wired up to an Ethernet system via a fibre-optic link. Will it be essential for
me to have an Ethernet card to keep my contact with the outside world, or is
feasible to expect to be able to continue using my SSC?
