Regarding the root-beer-in-the-keyboard disaster, why bother to detach the
keyboard at all?  We already have too many gismos hanging from wires near the
computer:  mouse, joystick, possibly a numeric keypad, the drives. etc.

In my view the ATTACHED KEYBOARD is one of the many charms of the Apple II, with
its firm keys that feel like keys instead of like hollow chicklets.  If/when I
ever upgrade to a IIgs, it will be for the motherboard upgrade so that the 
keyboard will remain where it ought to be:  attached.   Stephen Buggie
