IIc drive problems....

This is probably a very simple problem, but any help would be
appreciated:
I recently got a IIc for next to nothing, I got a good deal on it b/c
the drive seems not to work. It makes all of the usual sounds when it
powers on, but then just says 'Check Disk Drive'. :(
Is this something that can be fixed or should I just get a new drive
for it?
