Re: MDG PR: ProLine Price Reduction

One of the motivations I have for wanting to have a proline is to get some
groups that are not at my site (e.g. alt and talk) and are not likely carried
by other prolines. I doubt for instance that many prolines carry
alt.video.laserdisc or alt.tv.simpsons. That's why I expect I will need to
connect directly. Another reason I'm finally trying to get it going is that
I expect to lose access here for the summer.

I've been asking Bill Blue and yourself whether I could reach crash through
the net from my site or if I could attach my system to a UUCP-connected
machine but those ideas have not panned out. It looks like the only thing to
do is find a unix machine running uMDSS to connect to. Are there any places
near me to try?

I sure would like to get the thing going after I spent all the money on the
hardware and software. I have a hard disk with proline installed on it just
getting used for junk file storage and boxes containing parts for a IIgs
and a modem sitting idle.
