    To write a BASIC file in ASCII text, put these lines ahead of your
first basic statement (assumed to be numbered "10"):

1 PRINT CHR$(4)"OPEN FOO.TXT"
2 PRINT CHR$(4)"WRITE FOO.TXT"
3 POKE 33,30
4 LIST 10,
5 PRINT CHR$(4)"CLOSE FOO.TXT"
6 POKE 33,39
7 END

Then run the program.
