Joe, I have my own share of AWGS problems as well. I don't have
Easy Access installed too. I have a 9/32 Zip and my AWGS word processor
module just refuse to operate at that speed. No matter what I do
(including shift-booting so inits and DAs are not causing the problem),
I cannot even get a 2 page word processor document to load. Like what
you mentioned, it crashes whenever I scroll the document, even by a
little. The only way I can get it to work is to disable the Zip to slow
down to 2.8 mhz manually. I don't know if your friend has a Zip but if he
has, then tell him to slow it down and try. Even then, my AWGS is still
unstable under 2.8 mhz as it still tends to crash thought less frequent.
But the funny thing is that all other modules work fine under 9
mhz. So what I do is either use the page layout module to substitute
the word processor (for small 2-3 page jobs) or use AppleWorks 3.0
altogether and forget about all the fancy fonts.

Now at least I know how to salvage some of my AWGS word
processor files. Thanks.

Well, what we need now is a stable full-featured desktop-based
