II+ good for anything?

I've got a II+ with 64K (!) of RAM sitting in my closet. Is there
anything I can do with it? Will it run any of the latest software --
system or application? Is there any way to hook it into my AppleTalk
network? Can it be upgraded to, say, a IIe? Or should I just wait until
my kid starts showing interest and then let him rip it apart the way
I ripped apart radios when I started showing interest in electronics?
