On a PC with Windows it's pretty good. DeskWRITER printing from
a Mac is even better. We tested it with some GIF fotos, and they
looked very natural. It is somehow hard to describe. Imagine you have
only 4 colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) at a resolution for
single dots of 300 dpi. To get different hues you must mix the colors
with dither patterns, that are of course coarser than those 300 dpi.
I think, the DeskWriter color drivers are the best you can get out of
the printer technology built into the DW. (I admit it isn't very in-
formative if yoy can't have a look at it, sorry...)

Well, the 500c wastes ink when it prints black by mixing the
3 basic colors. And the picture isn't as good as with true black.
Furthermore this extra $200 saves you print cartidge shuffling
when you print with true black...

That's a question you should ask Vitesse. They announced the color
driver to appear quite soon...
We'll have to see, whether it reaches the quality of the DeskWriter
550C color driver for the Mac...

I leave that question to the experts. I only know that Windows already
supports Apple LaserWriters, so why not the ColorWriter soon?...
