Neither do IBMs and clones...the built-in tone generator isn't much
more sophisticated that what you'll find in 8-bit Apple II systems.

Don't knock the 8-bitters...I used a IIe until only a few months ago
(and my current system still says "Apple IIe" on the lid, even though
there's a ROM 01 IIGS motherboard underneath).
