Just a Mac *LC*?!? I'm using LC III's to FTP files from my UNIX
account to floppy, and things slow to a crawl when that happens
(assuming NCSA Telnet doesn't hang the darn computer half way
through...) :(

The HFS FST won't translate file types (with the possible exception
of text files). Pointless will read any forked file regardless of their
filetype, but it will automatically change it to $C8/0001 when you load
the font in for the first time. That's been my experience, anyway.
