That should be Bad RefNum, not Rednum. 

In any case, make sure that you HAVE the file 1/i/event manager installed. If
not, then you'll have to unpack it from the archives and stick it into the
1/i/ subdirectory. Without it, METAL will not compile the entire segment.

It is the FutureVision EVENT manager calls.
