True for modems under 9600 bps, but for 9600 and higher you should get
a hardware handshaking cable.  When I was trying to get a HW HS cable, I 
went into some Mac stores and they didn't have the foggiest idea what I was
talking about.

Eventually I just bought a cable from InTrec (publishers of ProTERM, formerly
called InSync)..  Also, the ProTERM 3.0 manual has pinouts for hardware 
handshaking for all computers ProTERM runs on. (Apparently the //c one is
pseudo-hardware handshaking)

I personally think it's the best on any computer, though I haven't taken a look
at any IBM term programs in a few years.  Definitely better than the Mac term
programs around.
