- Summary: TMS Drive and RAMFAST problems.
Hello,
I have just recently purchased a TMS Pro Drive. The 85ELS model.
I have it partitioned into 3 partitions...
one is 17mb
the other two are 32 mb. Total: about 81mb.
Anyway I keep having this problem...
My drive, since I got it has been having a _LOT_ of compatibility
problems. Certain DA's or INITS will cause the thing to crash if booted
off of one of the partitions. I used to boot off of my ZipDrive with no
problem.(except speed). Now i just copied the system files to a
partition of my shadow and it crashes. When I say crashes, what it does
is this. It will start-up, I get the start screen with the thermometer.
the finder comes up and all three partitions show up on the finder
desktop, then _BLAM_ it crashes. I can boot up with no DA's/INITS and
this will not happen. So I started removing(turning off) DA's and INITS.
I found that Finder View 3.0 was the problem, well at least I thought so.
I removed Finder View(which I love) and all seemed well....until this
morning. I booted up the Ole IIGS and it did the same thing...
If i boot off of the ZipDrive then no problem...I could just do this
but the thing is *SLOW* compared to the TMS and RAMFast...
Here is my question...Does anyone have this problem or do you
know of any DA's or INITS that conflict with The RAMFast?
Besides Finder View 3.0..The RamFast manual says that TWilight might
conflict, but as far as I can tell it doesn't.
BTW..I have the newest version of RAMFast. A ROM 3 IIGS with lots of
other neat stuff...RAM 4000 memory card with 2mb, Audio Animator Card,
ZipDrive 20mb...
Any info. is welcome....
Craig.
