Hard Drive Help

A friend of mine has an old Sider 40M hard drive and we want to copy
some stuff to it off of my hard drive. Being so old, is it ok to just
daisy-chain it to the back of mine (which has 3 partitions) or would
it be safer to just use the Sider's interface card and put it in my
GS? We are working against a deadline, so immediate replies would be
greatly appreciated.
