I'm re-directing all of the followups to this article to alt.bbs.metal. Pleas
try and keep discussion of METAL on that Usenet conference.

In any case, no, METAL.SYSTEM doesn't contain the "life blood" of the BBS
system. METAL.SYSTEM is the system "loader" file that basically loads the
configuration data, drivers etc.. and then executes the main body of the
program.

The binary "core" of METAL consists of the METAL.OBJ and 0/METAL.OBJ1 files.
These files are the METAL environment and if one of them is missing, METAL
should throw a fit and tell you in a little dialog box at startup.

To really help you with your problem, though, we will need to know certain key
data. Your asking us to find a needle in a haystack. Kind of like saying. "My
car is broke, can you fix it?" without knowing what is wrong.

We need to know..

1. What kind of computer you are running w/ hardware extras.
2. Your */METAL.CONFIG settings.
3. Exactly where the system crashes.
4. What kind of BBS software you are running for it. (FV, AppleNet, TunaNet or
   MSH)
