Nope, the only solution is using a different slot.  The RAM disk is
accessed through the GS built-in SmartPort.  Unfortunately the FDHD
controller card disables the SmartPort so you can no longer access this
drive (I believe the RAM disk is mapped to slot 5,2 normally).

I think you're right that the reason the card doesn't support the RAM
disk on the II GS was to make it compatible with the IIe.
