Ever since this thread was started, I've been wondering if anyone else would
come up with THIS idea- and apparantly no one has.
Would some kind shareware author be willing to present a program for sale,
which the proceeds would go towards this fabulous archive? Some ideas for
would be software that come to mind are, for one, a script, macro, or
stand-alone program that would retrieve goodies from the archive easily. If
something like this were available, many Apple ][ users that don't have the
technical know how could take advantage of this archive, specifically, those
in the elementary through high school education area, whether teachers or
students.
Just an idea, but when many K-12 schools reach internet status, a multitude more
people will be accessing it with Apple ]['s. (IMHO!)
Otherwise, ANY other ware's for the ][ could be _donated_ for the purpose of
generating the capital to create a software archive. And, that _should_ surely
be a tax deduction, but don't quote me on that!
OR-
How about a raffle, for a piece of commercial software currently being
produced? There are many, many ways to make this work, that don't require any
one person or company to shell out a lot of money, like a sponsorship
would.
Let's further this disussion- I now leave it up to you.
