RFD: Integration of alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2 into c.s.a2

Several days ago, someone mentioned in alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2 that that
group might be better placed in the comp.sys.apple2 hierarchy. Three reasons
were given for this proposed move, and I have added another:

	1. The alt hierarchy has a bad reputation. Stereotypically, alt.* is
known for improperly created newsgroups with wandering subject
matter, neither of which applies to a.e.i.a2 itself, only some of
	   its less reputable brethren.
	2. Perhaps for reasons parallel to #1 above, many sites don't carry
the alt hierarchy. Thus, many would-be readers may not even know
	   that a.e.i.a2 exists.
	3. The alt hierarchy is mostly for topics that don't fit the other
hierarchies. While alt.flame, alt.geek, etc., belong here,
the Apple ][ and emulators thereof are worthy and deserving of a
comp.* newsgroup. The ][ itself already has such a group in c.s.a2,
but the readers of that group seem to pretty much ignore the various
	   emulators.
	4. The "ibmpc" designation is inaccurate. While a good deal of the
discussion on a.e.i.a2 is dedicated to the "apl2em" emulation
program, which runs under MS-DOS, there are also discussions of ][
emulations on other OS's, notably "a2" on Unix.

For these four reasons, I request the discussion of the replacement of
alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2 with a comp hierarchy group, with the recommended
name being comp.sys.apple2.emulators or similar. Thank you.

Note to a.e.i.a2 and c.s.a2 readers: I cross-posted this because I thought you
might have an interest in what goes on with your groups. My suggestion is to
follow it and give feedback as you wish (but please, no flames). If you wish
to E-mail me, my address is in my .sig. Thanks.
