All the info you need should be in the Apple DOS manual, which you may be 
able to find somewhere. Probably a better book is Beneath Apple DOS, but 
you may have some trouble getting your hands on that one.
Give us a yell if you need some more help - I have both books here, but 
there's little point me typing something up if you already have it.
