Some programs have bugs which leave handles lying around in special memory
(banks $00 and $01, in particular). Sometimes these are direct pages, and
sometimes they're just small memory blocks gotten for various reasons
(Find File accidentally leaves pathname string memory blocks lying around
in special memory sometimes, which is why I wrote a fix program for it :).

Also, this error does seem to occur sometimes after certain applications,
like Teach, and I don't know why. I suggest just not using Teach. :)

If you've got lots of memory and get this error, you probably have a badly
written desk accessory, INIT, or other system extension installed. I'd
suggest playing around by disabling various items until you find the
troublemaker (an adventure in itself, since removing one item can cause
the problem to go away even though a totally different program is the real
culprit -- all because of memory configuration issues). But that might
solve the problem.

On the other hand, I sort of suspect that Teach has a memory problem (or,
hey, maybe it's another TextEdit bug... :)
