Not quite true.

1)	If you are running Appleshare you can set bit 7 of the param count
	field of your OPEN call and open the resource fork
	(or not set it and open the data fork) of a file on a server.

2)	Using READ_BLOCK and the info from the technotes you can read
	a forked file on a local disk.

Both of these are do-able under P8.

Certainly your average program will not be able to do this.
