I use ProTerm all the time - and no, I don't have trouble uploading stuff
from the editor - at least I don't _now_! ;-)

There's at least two things worth knowing. The first is that what you see on
the screen when you upload some text is not necessarily what the BBS received!
Although that's not a good thing - it's too hard to work out if there was a
real problem in the transfer!

The second "secret", is to set the "line send pace" value to a fairly small
number - particularly if you are transmitting at 9600 bps. I have mine set to
a number around 3/100 - it can be higher if the system is lightly loaded (or
you hold your tongue the right way, or something) on some occasions. I also
have the "character send pace" set to 75/100, which seems to work most of the
time.

Note that all this refers to text uploading using the Apple-D (Send ASCII)
command in the editor. You can, of course, upload files using ZModem at full
speed.

The last thing that's worth knowing in the ProTerm editor is that if you want
to mark a block of text as reply format (ie. with the '>' quote marks), then
ProTerm assumes 70 (I think) character lines are required, and will do word
wrap whether or not you want it. Usually, if the original lines are long I
just do the quoting by hand, or reformat and 'wrapped' lines back to where
they should be.

BTW, if anyone knows how to make ProTerm think lines are 80 chars. long for
'reply format' - please let me know - RIGHT NOW!  B-}
