MultiLine vs Multinode:
(I'm not claiming this is completely accurate terminology, just throwing my
  two cents worth in.)
Hardware Multinode: *shudder* Multiple computers linked together (usually)
                    to handle multiple connections.
Software Multinode: *shudder* One computer (typically fast, lots o' memory)
running "multiple copies" of a BBS package to support
                    multiple connections.
Hardware Multiline: One computer, 2+ lines (although most PC's need multiport
boards after their...2nd line, although some can go up to
                    four without...)
Software Multiline: One computer, 2+ lines, only one copy of the BBS package..
                    (Low memory over-head, faST!)
