Hmmm, I don't know if you could export local nuclear power stations to
Switzerland as they have quite restrictive laws here. Just for us
Europeans, you should also consider a 240V/50Hz nuclear power station.
Besides that, I fear that the postage fee would be a bit high. Maybe
you can send them as books ...
I thought about your (our) problem and worked out four options:
- ship a river power station. However, this would be way problematic in
some seasons, depending where you're living. It also requires some
extra cables and intensive system maintenance.
- Ship the ROM 06 with a special mouse. The built-in 5-speed coupling
is connected to a small generator. Although the mouse would be quite
hard to move, it's the most elegant solution.
- don't ship ROM 06 machines at all. This solution has one obvious
disadvantage. The above, though, have several.
- You could add a switch at the front of the case where the user can
select what part may draw power (motherboard, screen, hard disk, etc)
Well, Ian, don't give up. I hope we converge on the final design soon.
Right now the crank drive works fine as I could convince Urs to crank
for me each day during non-prime time [e-mail].:)

PS: need some uranium? Let me know...
