Help regarding basic

I'm programming my GS using the 80 column card:

I want to read the horizontal position.  On my //e, H=POS(0) and 
H=PEEK(36) both work.  On my //gs, they return 0.

Also, V=PEEK(37) reads the horizontal position ok on both computers.

You may have noticed this is the same question as my other post.  That's
