I'm not aware of a ProFILE driver for GS/OS. I don't think it would be
much faster anyway - the main delay is getting data to and from the drive.

Polled from where? Do you know that you can turn off the automatic
initial poll in Finder, by using to the Preferences menu item?

If you don't use the 5.25" drives very often, you might want to
consider disabling them (by setting slot 6 to "Your Card") or
disabling the 5.25" device driver. The latter is probably a better
option - you will still be able to access the drives from ProDOS-8.

If you put the SuperDrive card into Slot 5, you won't be able to access
the RAM disk. My solution to this was to put the SuperDrive card in
slot 6 - I have my standard 3.5" drive connected to the IIgs drive
port (S5, D1), RAM5 is (S5, D2) and the SuperDrive is (S6, D1). If I
need to use the 5.25" drives, I set slot 6 back to "Disk Port".

You mean a /RAM5 driver? That would be VERY useful, but I haven't
heard anything about one.
