be patient with archiver. it usually can recover most of your stuff, you
just have to restore in pieces. be prepared to experience a few crashes.
then when you finish, go get something else. oh yeah, run with extensions
off. (hold down shift at startup)
HFS _does_ work. i've had an HFS partition since system 6 came out, and
i've had about the same number of massive problems that i've had with
prodos partitions. of course, i tend to not take data loss too seriously
anyway (if i actually care about it, i back it up.) and i still use
archiver. the free part really appeals to me, more than the hassle takes
away. HFS makes me happier with my HD, and if i had a larger one, (>my 85
meg drive) it would keep me from going completely insane. as it is, i
hate having 3 partitions. (boot, prodos stuff, HFS)
