Well, congratulations to myself:

I received a mailing from Softdisk Publishing today offering a risk-free
issue of SOFTDISK or SOFTDISK G-S (subscribe if you like the free disk,
cancel if you wish) and a notice that if my request were the first
processed from my state, I'd win a year's free subscription.

Rather than mail the first class reply card, I called the toll-free number
-- for fastest service -- and won!  :)

Now if Publisher's Clearing House and American Family Publishers would just
remember to send _their_ checks to me, I'll be able to squeak by for a while.
