If the Avatar were to start afresh and be incompatible with
everything currently in the market, then it will fail. This is no
longer the 1970s. Markets have already more or less stablised. But if
it were to capture the Apple II market, then at least the Avatar will
have a few million potential customers. Traditions are always bad.
The Avatar IS a _bold_ experiment, BUT _not_ one doomed to fail.
Whether it fails or not is still too early to pass judgement. I'm sure
if all of us were to just give it a little support, it will see the
light. I've always like the GS and it's architecture.
