Pretty easy to understand. Each GS/OS version has a ProDOS 8 version that
matches it. It's impossible to mix versions because GS/OS does some patching
to the code when it launches ProDOS 8. These patches are naturally version-
dependent. If you mix OS versions, you'll get a system failure (sliding apple)
and a message like "wrong OS version". So you have to wait until the next
system software release comes out to use the new ProDOS on your IIgs. I'll be
using it on my //e as soon as I can get hold of it. But chances are that won't
be until I get the new software for my IIgs.
