I just purchased a ZipGS straight from the company.(Can you beleive it
was only about 5 dollars more then mail order and mail order said they
weren't expecting any for 1 or 2 weeks. I wanted it now.) I got it a
couple of days late but I think that was the shipping company. I say the
shipping company because you should have seen the condition of the package
I recieved.
What I suggest is this. Think about this senario. You are a company
that has given a three year warrenty on the product you produce. The
manufacturer of an important part of your product said they cannot
make that part anymore. You cannot find another manufacturer. You have an
inventory of 10 more of this part. Now 9... Now 8... Now 1. What do
you do when someone sends you a defective product.(It is bound to happen.)
That is what I have gathered what happened.(believe me I have looked into
it pretty extensively before buying my ZipGS) If anyone wants to correct
me then go right ahead. The way I see it, Zip is not the problem it is the
company that was supplying the part. They are (or were) doing the most
sensible thing to do.
