  Look at the board carefully and make sure there is nothing shorting the
pins or broken (maybe a scratch on the board).  An easy way to clean the
board is to get tape and just cover the board then peel the tape off.
Check every line on the problem socket with a 'line-tester'.  If you have
a multimeter, use that, else you can make one with a flashlight and some
wire (should be easy to figure out).  These are 1Mx1 chips, right?  Here
is the memory chip pinout:
1 - D                     Vss - 18
2 - !WE                     Q - 17
3 - !RAS                 !CAS - 16
4 - TF                     A9 - 15
5 - A0                     A8 - 14
6 - A1                     A7 - 13
7 - A2                     A6 - 12
8 - A3                     A5 - 11
9 - Vcc                    A4 - 10
Check the !WE, !RAS, !CAS, Vcc, Vss, and the address lines with another
socket in the same row.  Check D & Q with a socket in the same column.
TF is 'test function' which I think is not connected.  If you find one
with a bad connection, just short it with a piece of wire and solder to
where it should be connected.  Also, look at the bad socket & make sure
the the chip's pin is making good contact (D & Q).
