Try disabling as many escape and flow control characters as you can. I log
in to cco through a Xyplex box and I have to throw it into transparent mode
and disable the escape character in order to get a clean 8-bit connection.
If I don't, only kermit downloads will work.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had a transfer protocol that didn't use any control
characters and encoded binary data like binscii does? It'd be slower, but with
high speed modems and transparent compression and all that, you could probably
get away with it. Hmmm...
