I was wondering about the same modification. In the Digi-Key catalog (#925)
on page 52 there are adaptor sockets which may do the trick. (I don't know
much about "parts" so if someone else can take a look in the catalog and
tell us if these adaptors would do the job -- I'd appreciate it!!).
Oh, these adaptors come in either 24 pin or 28 pin configuration. How many
pins on the SRAMS?
Here is the Digi-Key specifics:
# pins Description Digi-Key part # Price (each)
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
24 .600 to .300 A503 $8.26
28 .600 to .300 A504 $9.21
Now, I know these are expensive but if we can't or don't want to risk
soldering, what else can we do?
