Re: Project anti-matt

STOP THIS INSANITY RIGHT NOW.

This newsgroup is not about me, nor has it ever been.

If you don't like me, if you won't accept that an individual can have the
opinion that Apple hasn't been "out to get" Apple II owners (and that
opinion is influenced, but not a part of, his job), that's your choice.
You're free to express this, but this is not the appropriate forum.

If you at least don't happen to hate me, I appreciate your sentiment, but
again this is not the appropriate forum. I know there are folks who read
this who think reading what I have to say is a marginally better way to
spend their time than poking a stick in their eyes, and that's all I'm
hoping for.

DBrock: My job before 2/91 was supporting the Apple II 100% of the time.
That job was taken away from me, and I'm just lucky that it wasn't in the
form of a layoff. DTS gave me a new job supporting the Apple II part of
the time, and I've tried to do well in the rest of it, but it has been a
_major_ upheaval in my business and personal lives.

If you think that your investment in the Apple II is more significant than
mine, that's your right. I apologize if Apple didn't consider, on every
decision, how it would affect you, Al Franken.

Roy: I have some friends in OKC and I have some unfriends. I wasn't
always popular there, and most of the people I've remained friends with are
similarly unpopular. I don't know why and I don't particularly care to
know. I work to earn the respect of those I respect, and that's what
matters in my life.

All: If you want to go start alt.i.hate.matt, go for it. This is not
that group. If you're thinking of following up, don't. Go to IRC and
say personal and insulting things some more like often happens when I'm
not there (yes, I know about it -- people send me transcripts). I don't
read this group to defend myself or Apple, and continued discussions in
this vein are not useful.
