Local Second Grade class looking for FUN software for a IIe

My son's second grade class has a IIe with 5.25" floppy.  As far as I can
tell, it has not even been turned on this year.  The teacher is planning on
doing something with it during Jan/Feb when 'there is nothing else to do'.

What I would like to locate is a source for low cost software (cause the
school isn't going to run out and pay thousands or even hundreds of dollars -
frankly, they have the computers as a gift and no one ever bothered to give
them the gift of software so almost NO ONE uses them!).  But I dont want
video games per se nor do I want boring 'flash card' programs which just
print blase text on the screen asking questions.  I am interested in finding
software for a IIe which could be used to reenforce Spelling words, Reading
assignments, Math programs, etc.

I assume that I am out of luck - I perhaps should just tell the teachers to
go ahead and trade in those Apples for some other type of equipment?  Perhaps
film strip projectors or something?
