No conversion at all. Those are SCSI drives, and you won't have to do
any such 'conversion'.
Just get them external with a case and power supply (yes I know you
stated those were
external, I'm just being thorough), and you can hook 'em up to a SCSI
card and awaaaay
you go.

You might want to look into "compact" cases. A lot of the different mail
order companies
in Mac magazines sell them, and at least for some of them, there's no
extra charge. You
can get the drive in an external case that's smaller than a disk ][
drive, not much
bigger (width and height) than an Apple 3.5" drive, only a little longer.

Last year, the best combination I could find of size of hard drive and
price and smallness
of case was from APS. Maybe there are better deals this year...
Apparently there are, since I paid $450 for a 105meg drive.

Look around at v.32 (9600) and v.32bis (14400) modems. They're getting
cheaper all the
time. Unless you're dead set on getting an internal modem, 9600 and
faster modems
are so inexpensive nowadays it's hard to justify getting a slower one.

I speak for myself, not Apple.
