This seems to happen sometimes in System 6.  I get it on and off, myself.
Icons where the name appears with nothing above it, and colored snow all
over the screen.  I still think somebody's mashing the icon records in
memory, especially because I had one icon on my desktop which showed up
(once) with (a) the wrong icon, and (b) the _small_ icon instead of the
large one. :)
