Steve,
I've got a similar setup, 44 MB SyQuest and 40 MB Quantum ProDrive. Each
drive worked seperately with their interal terminators. Strange thing is that
daisy-chained with the last one externally terminated (internal term removed),
they only work in one order. In the other order, the system is very flaky,
indicating termination problems.

I have the same problem. It doesn't happen if the Syquest is off, which is
usually the case for me. For what its worth, I reported this to
apple.bugs@applelink.apple.com as a ProDOS 8 bug.

The only GS/OS problem I have is that a cart must be in during boot for the
drive to be recognized. Insertions and ejections are recognized immediately
provided the drive is being polled, as in Finder, Standard File dialogs, and
new apps that call HandleDiskInsert in their event loop.

The Rev C card had problems with removable media, but the DMA card is supposed
to have fixed them.

I think not.
