Don't crack it open... not yet!  You can access the screws on the Apple
Joystick by removing the rubber feet on the bottom.  They are fastened with
an adhesive and can be "peeled" off... there are only two srews holding the
case together so if you find one then the other is directly diag. to it.

The buttons themselves are fairly goog quality but the wires connecting them
are hair-thin.  If the wire has come off then you jut need to resolder them
again... I repaired mine like this before.
