The HiTECH Group is establishing a new support system for all U.S.
BBS operators called *STAR*LINK*, in conjunction with its unique
new *UNIVERSE* Network for consumers and businesses. Due to  
anticipated overwhelming response we are releasing information in  
controlled stages. The first general information release will be
on or after November 6, 1992 to the same parties having received
this preliminary ALERT! notice. Thanks for any assistance you can
give us in getting this word out - we think you will be very
pleased you did.

ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!!

   On October 30th, 54 years ago, aliens "landed" in Grovers Mill,
New Jersey - thanks to the wonder of that era's technology and
communications. it was only Orson Welles' radio play on CBS, but it
convinced and scared almost half the country that heard Mercury
Theatre's 'reporters' realistically describing this "invasion".
Now that we have survived this year's double scare of Halloween and
Election Day, we are alerting people across the country to a much more
positive use of today's communications and technology. The opposite of
an alien invasion, it has been developing over the last nine years, as
a way to harness people in a new system for positive change. Unaffected
by the election, a series of announcements and events during the first
part of November will explain that this 'HiTECH' system is not a
political force or new philosophy, just a better way of using existing
technology. Its thrust is to put large numbers of people to work,
pulling together even larger segments of the general population in
order to benefit them and the U.S. business community, while shoring up
our financial system, creating a new form of technology education, and
improving our environment.
   If you think you might be interested in becoming part of this
'HiTECH' system for positive change, participation is totally voluntary
and open to almost everyone over 16 years of age with a computer and a
modem (we may even supply the latter). To find out the details that 
might affect you or people you know - just make note of where you saw
or heard the ALERT! message, whom you pass it on to and stay tuned to
your friendly local (or distant) BBS for complete information.
