Hard drive compression etc.

With the release of hard drive compression utilities, HardPressed and 
Auto Arc
brings up a question. Both of these utilities are boasting that they will
double the size of the hard drive. So my question is, will a 20 meg hard 
drive
equiped with HardPressed or Auto Arc become a 40 meg drive? If so, will 
it have
to be partitioned?
